Olde Towne Pet Resort and Northern Virginia Magazine Partner to Celebrate the Area’s Cutest Dogs!

PRNewswire/ — Northern Virginia Magazine, a magazine known for its tireless dedication to its community, has been looking for the cutest dog in Northern Virginia as part of its annual Dog Days of Summer and WagFest 2012 event. This exciting and local pet-focused event — which is presently scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 10 am – 2 pm and is expected to draw several hundred pet parents from all areas of Northern Virginia — is being hosted by Olde Towne Pet Resort Dulles in Loudoun County, just off of Route 28 North and Nokes Boulevard and located at 21460 Squire Court in Sterling, Virginia, 20166.

“Olde Towne Pet Resort Dulles seemed like a natural choice for our WagFest 2012 event,” says Renee Ventrice, Regional Account Manager for Northern Virginia Magazine. “Our publication felt the facility was the absolute perfect venue for revealing our area’s Cutest Dogs and announcing the contest winners in an environment dedicated to the comfort and quality care for area canines.”

As part of the festivities, Olde Towne Pet Resort Dulles will be hosting not just the event’s premier location but also numerous informational sessions and activity-orientated events including a Summer Safety & Emergency Preparedness seminar as well as an Agility Play Time for canines who enjoy physical activity and outdoor play.

Northern Virginia Magazine’s Marketing Specialist Jolleen Tran indicates there is plenty of activity for area families with pets to enjoy. “We hope area pet-friendly families will join us for a fun-filled day! Attendees will enjoy a free day of demos, big prizes, a dog-owner look-a-like contest and countless treats for both for humans and canines. Last but hardly least, attendees will be part of the big announcement: which dogs make it to the Top Ten!  All present will be part of the final round of voting as well!”

Ellen Haynes, General Manager for Olde Towne Pet Resort Dulles, is equally as enthusiastic about the day’s scheduled events. “We are very excited to play an important part of a localized and entertaining dog-focused gathering such as WagFest 2012. Our pet care team members will work closely with Northern Virginia Magazine staff to greet and welcome local pet parents, assist event sponsors and vendors and ensure a comfortable, enjoyable experience for all pets who attend.”

Pet parents are welcome and encouraged to bring their dogs to WagFest 2012. “Those interested in leaving their family’s furry loved one(s) in our Day Camp facility during or even after the event should they wish to go shopping or dining thereafter are welcome to do so,” says Haynes. “Please contact our pet resort with advanced notice at 571.434.3300 to pre-schedule Day Camp evaluations and complete any necessary paperwork required.” Advanced notice is not required but highly preferred.

The Northern Virginia Magazine’s Cute Dog Contest will be open to public voting and begin on July 30. Local pet parents wishing to enter their own cute dogs into the contest may do so until Tuesday, July 24.
